It was supposed to be a happy day in the jungle family. The sun was warm, the trees swayed gently, and everyone had gathered to welcome the new baby monkey. She was tiny, soft, and adorable, wrapped in a little banana-leaf blanket. All the grown-up monkeys clapped and smiled. Even Auntie Lala brought fruit as a welcome gift.

But not everyone was smiling.

Hidden behind a bush, little Baby Monkey was watching with big eyesโ€”and a heavy heart. For so long, he had been the only baby. The snuggles, the lullabies, the fruit treatsโ€”they all used to be just for him. But now? Everyone was crowded around her.

He peeked again and saw Mama holding the new baby close, whispering and laughing.

Baby Monkeyโ€™s chest tightened. โ€œWhy is everyone looking at her? What about me?โ€ he whispered.

Later that day, Mama called, โ€œCome say hi to your new sister!โ€

But Baby Monkey shook his head and turned away. โ€œNo. I donโ€™t like her,โ€ he mumbled, hiding under a big leaf. His little tail twitched with frustration.

When Mama found him, she sat down slowly beside him. โ€œSweetheart, are you feeling a little left out?โ€

Baby Monkey didnโ€™t answer, but his eyes filled with tears. โ€œYou donโ€™t cuddle me like before. You love her more now.โ€

โ€œOh, my baby,โ€ Mama said, pulling him into her lap. โ€œI will always love you. Just because I love her too doesnโ€™t mean thereโ€™s less love for you.โ€

โ€œBut she gets all the attentionโ€ฆโ€ he sniffled.

Mama gently wiped his tears. โ€œSheโ€™s new and tiny, so she needs more help. But youโ€™ll always be my first little monkey. And sheโ€™s lucky to have you as her big brother.โ€

Baby Monkey stayed quiet for a moment, thinking. Slowly, he peeked out at the new baby, who was now sleeping peacefully in a hammock.

โ€œShe looks… funny,โ€ he muttered, cracking a tiny smile.

โ€œSheโ€™s just wrinkly,โ€ Mama laughed. โ€œLike you were when you were born.โ€

Baby Monkey giggled and finally whispered, โ€œCan I help feed her tomorrow?โ€

Mama hugged him tight. โ€œOf course. Youโ€™ll be the best big brother.โ€

It would take time, but Baby Monkey was learningโ€”love doesnโ€™t shrink when shared. It grows. ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’›
