Monkey Is Upset Because Mischievous Bon Is Being Too Playful!
In the quiet warmth of a sunny afternoon, Monkey was hoping for some peace. He had found a shady tree and was lying back, eyes half-closed, enjoying the soft breeze rustling through the leaves. But that peaceful moment didn’t last long — because here came Bon!
Bon, the ever-energetic little monkey with a mischievous sparkle in his eyes, leapt from branch to branch, flipping and tumbling with laughter. “Come play, Monkey!” he shouted, landing beside him with a thud. Monkey opened one eye and gave a long sigh. “Bon,” he said patiently, “I just want to rest for a bit.”
But Bon was in one of those moods — bouncing, poking, tugging on Monkey’s tail, even hanging upside down in front of his face to make silly faces. Monkey tried to ignore him, but Bon’s energy was too much to escape. He pulled Monkey’s ears, spun around him like a whirlwind, and even tossed a few leaves at him playfully.
“Bon, stop it!” Monkey finally snapped, sitting up with a frown. His fur was ruffled, his nap ruined, and his patience had worn thin. Bon paused, startled. His smile faded as he realized he had gone too far. Monkey didn’t look amused — he looked truly upset.
“I just wanted to play,” Bon mumbled, looking down at his feet. “But I didn’t mean to make you mad.”
Monkey’s expression softened a little, but he still looked serious. “I like playing too, Bon. But sometimes I need quiet. When you don’t listen, it makes me feel like you don’t care how I feel.”
Bon’s ears drooped. “I’m sorry, Monkey. I didn’t think about that.”
After a quiet moment, Monkey reached out and patted Bon’s head. “It’s okay. Just remember, even playful monkeys need to take turns and be gentle.”
Bon nodded quickly. “I will! Maybe… we can play later? When you’re ready?”
Monkey smiled. “That sounds perfect.”
And so, Monkey returned to his peaceful spot under the tree, and Bon tiptoed away, humming softly, thinking of new games they could play—together—when the time was right.
