Dog Puts Hand In 🤣👏

Every family has that one overly enthusiastic member during game night—and in our house, it’s not a person. It’s our Golden Retriever, Teddy.

It all started when we were gathered in the living room for our usual Friday tradition: game night. Roo, our younger pup, was already snoozing under the table, uninterested. But Teddy? He was front and center, watching every move, especially when snacks were involved.

We were about to start a round of charades and, like always, someone said, “Alright, hands in!”

Everyone leaned in, stacked our hands together, ready for our traditional “1-2-3-GO!”

And just before the countdown…

Teddy slowly raised his paw… and placed it gently on top of the pile.

Dead. Silence.

Then, chaos.

We all lost it. Teddy looked around proudly like, “I thought this was a team thing?” His tail wagged like he just earned MVP status. Roo, startled awake, looked up just in time to see us clapping and laughing as Teddy barked once, clearly thrilled with himself.

Now, every game night starts the same way. Someone says, “Hands in!” and Teddy trots over, ready to contribute. Sometimes he even beats us to it, placing his paw down before anyone else can react.

We’ve even trained him to “paw in” on command now. And yes—he expects a treat or at least thunderous applause every time.

The best part? It’s turned into a new family tradition. No matter how stressful the week’s been, watching our dog so proudly join the team reminds us to laugh, let go, and be fully present—even if one of the team members occasionally drools on the board game.

Dogs put their hand in… and our hearts out.
