My Dog Took the Movie UP Too Seriously! 🎈🐶🎥
Movie night is a tradition in our house, and last weekend we chose a classic: Pixar’s UP. I had tissues ready (you know why), snacks in bowls, and both my dogs—Teddy and Roo—snuggled on the couch, ready to watch.
At first, everything was calm. Teddy watched the screen with his head tilted, clearly intrigued by the dogs in the movie. But when Dug, the talking golden retriever, showed up with his goofy grin and unforgettable line—“Hi there! My name is Dug!”—Teddy’s ears perked up like he’d just heard a long-lost cousin.
He immediately jumped off the couch and ran behind the TV, tail wagging like crazy. It was as if he thought Dug was actually in our living room. He started barking—not in fear, but in pure excitement. Roo, never one to miss a party, joined in, spinning in circles with her favorite squeaky toy.
But it got funnier.
When Carl’s house lifted off the ground with balloons, Teddy stared up at the ceiling… then dashed to the corner of the room where we keep birthday supplies. I kid you not—he pawed at a bag of leftover balloons.
He thought he could fly.
I watched, speechless, as he tried to nudge balloons into the air with his nose. One floated up, and he jumped after it like he was ready to lift off into the sky and find his own adventure.
It didn’t stop there. For the next hour, Teddy kept scanning the windows, looking for any signs of floating houses or talking dogs. Roo eventually curled up and fell asleep—but Teddy? He stood guard like the movie was a documentary.
Let’s just say: UP left an impression.
Now every time I pull out a balloon, Teddy gets this look like, “Adventure is out there!”
