My Dog Trapped Me in His House! 🐶🔒🏠
What started as a joke quickly turned into one of the strangest mornings of my life. Let me explain: I built my dog, Teddy, his own mini house in the backyard. It’s decked out with everything—dog bed, toy chest, snack drawer, and even a little door with a working latch. I called it the “Teddy Mansion.” Naturally, Teddy loved it.
One day, while cleaning out his little house, I decided to crawl inside and tidy up the corners. I figured it would take five minutes tops. I was wrong.
As I was rearranging some of his toys, I heard a click behind me. I turned around to see Teddy standing just outside the doorway, tail wagging and tongue out. He had accidentally (or maybe not so accidentally?) closed the door… and the latch had locked from the outside.
“Okay, Teddy,” I laughed, “funny joke. Now open it.”
He just tilted his head and walked away. Seriously. My own dog trapped me inside his dog house.
At first, I thought it was no big deal. But after ten minutes of yelling his name and hearing zero response (probably because he was too busy sunbathing or planning his next prank), I started to panic a little. I tried to squeeze through the tiny dog door—not happening. I reached for my phone—left it in the house. Great.
Finally, after what felt like an hour, I heard footsteps. My neighbor, curious about the barking and muffled yelling, found me and let me out. And who was sitting nearby with the most innocent face ever?
Teddy.
He wagged his tail like I had been the one who abandoned him. Smart, sneaky little guy.
Lesson learned: never underestimate your dog’s sense of humor—or his ability to lock you in your own creation.
