A powerful tornado struck the Irving suburb of Dallas, Texas, causing widespread devastation. The tornado was confirmed as an EF-1 with winds reaching up to 110 mph (about 177 km/h). It ripped off entire roofs at the Tree Country Apartments, damaged many other buildings, uprooted trees, and knocked out power across large areas.
More than 350 residents were forced to evacuate from the affected zone. The Irving Police Family Advocacy Center also lost half of its roof and the canopy on the second floor. In addition, hurricane-force winds of up to 110 mph not only caused structural damage but also left thousands of households without electricity across the city.

The storm system brought along destructive winds equivalent to a Category 1 hurricane, creating chaos throughout the region. Many roads were blocked by fallen trees and dangling power lines. At least several schools had to close temporarily or send students home early due to safety concerns.
