Monkey Helps Dad Apply Medicine to Treat Tick Wounds on the Poor Dog!😭🥰
It was a sunny afternoon when Dad called Monkey over with a concerned look on his face. Lying in the corner of the yard, under the shade of a mango tree, was their beloved dog, Chiko. Chiko had been unusually quiet all day, refusing to play or even eat. His eyes looked tired, and his tail barely wagged. When Dad knelt down to check on him, he gasped softly. “Oh no, Chiko’s got ticks again. And some of the bites have turned into wounds.”
Monkey, always eager to help, came running with wide eyes. He loved Chiko dearly—they were best friends who played, ate, and even napped together. Seeing his furry friend in pain made Monkey’s heart ache.
Dad opened the first-aid kit while Monkey sat close by, watching attentively. “We need to clean these wounds and put medicine on them, Monkey,” Dad explained. “Ticks can make dogs very sick. We have to act quickly.”
Dad showed Monkey the small bottle of antiseptic and a soft cloth. Monkey nodded seriously and held out his tiny hands, ready to help. With great care, Dad poured a bit of antiseptic onto the cloth and gently dabbed the first wound. Chiko whimpered a little but didn’t move. He trusted Dad and Monkey completely.
Monkey looked into Chiko’s eyes and gently patted his head, whispering something only Chiko could understand. That seemed to comfort him. Then, Dad gave Monkey a small cotton ball with antiseptic on it and pointed to a smaller wound near Chiko’s leg. “Can you help me with this one?” he asked.
Monkey reached forward slowly, being careful not to hurt Chiko. With delicate fingers, he pressed the cotton ball to the wound, just like Dad had shown him. Chiko flinched slightly, but then relaxed as Monkey continued. Dad smiled. “You’re doing great, Monkey.”
Together, they worked as a team. Dad cleaned the deeper wounds, while Monkey focused on the smaller ones. When it was time to apply the tick-repellent ointment, Monkey helped squeeze a tiny bit onto a spoon, which Dad used to dab on Chiko’s fur. They also checked between his toes, under his collar, and around his ears—places where ticks like to hide.
After the treatment, Dad gently placed a soft blanket over Chiko, who was now resting more peacefully. Monkey stayed by his side, softly stroking his fur. “You were so brave, Chiko,” Monkey whispered. “You’re going to feel better soon.”
Dad sat down next to Monkey and gave him a warm pat on the back. “You were amazing today,” he said. “You helped more than you know. Chiko is lucky to have you.”
Monkey beamed with pride. It felt good to help, especially when it was someone he loved so much. That evening, Monkey helped Dad clean up the first-aid supplies, then they prepared a warm meal for Chiko—soft rice and boiled chicken, easy on his stomach. Though Chiko didn’t eat much, he licked a few spoonfuls, and that made everyone smile.
Over the next few days, Monkey continued to help Dad monitor Chiko. He would bring clean cloths, hold the ointment, and gently keep Chiko calm during treatments. As the wounds slowly healed and the ticks stayed away, Chiko began wagging his tail again and even barked cheerfully when Monkey brought him his favorite ball.
The bond between Monkey, Dad, and Chiko grew even stronger during this time. It wasn’t just about treating wounds—it was about love, care, and teamwork. Monkey learned how powerful kindness can be, and Chiko knew, more than ever, that he was part of a family that would always take care of him.
And from that day on, Monkey never stopped looking after Chiko, always ready with a soft touch and a big heart.
