Teddy Tuesday Was a Success 🙂🐶🎉
If you haven’t heard of Teddy Tuesday, don’t worry—it’s a holiday we invented ourselves. Well… Teddy invented it. We just went along for the ride.
It started a few weeks ago when I noticed Teddy, our lovable Golden Retriever, was having a bit of a gloomy streak. Mondays were rough (for both of us), and by Tuesday, he seemed bored, maybe even a little blue. So I said, half-jokingly, “You know what? Tomorrow is Teddy Tuesday—a whole day about you.”
His ears perked up like I had just announced an all-you-can-eat peanut butter buffet.
So, we committed. We planned. And this week, Teddy Tuesday officially happened.
It began with breakfast in bed—okay, technically, breakfast on the rug. But it was gourmet: scrambled eggs, a slice of bacon, and a dog-safe peanut butter pup cup. Roo, his younger sister, was allowed to attend only as a guest. Teddy was the guest of honor.
Next, it was off to the park. Not just any park—the one with the pond, the ducks, and the GIANT stick collection. Teddy sprinted across the grass like he was running for president. He played fetch (loosely… he mostly just collected the ball and rolled in the grass), and Roo chased butterflies while pretending not to be jealous.
Back at home, we had a surprise waiting: a mini “Teddy Tuesday” banner, some paw-shaped cookies, and a pile of new toys. The squeaky hamburger was the clear favorite—it’s been in his mouth ever since.
The afternoon was all snuggles, silly selfies, and one bubble bath that turned into a splash zone. (Worth it.)
And of course, we ended the night with a movie—“Bolt”—Teddy’s favorite. I swear, he actually watches it. His head tilts during the dramatic scenes. Roo, meanwhile, fell asleep 20 minutes in.
By the end of the day, Teddy was stretched out on the couch, paws twitching, tail wagging in his sleep. His belly was full, his toy pile was conquered, and he had been celebrated in full golden glory.
Teddy Tuesday was a success.
Actually, scratch that—Teddy Tuesday was a masterpiece.
And honestly? I think it’s going to become a weekly thing.
Because sometimes, we all need a reason to celebrate someone we love… even if he’s covered in fur, obsessed with squirrels, and slightly allergic to his own tail.
